                  Vintage Ploughing

Vintage Ploughing is strong in New Zealand and has a promising future. The New Zealand Vintage Ploughing Committee was formed in 1997 following a most successful trial at the Silver Plough Championship that year.

Seven qualifying events are held, two in the North Island and five in the South Island. From these events, seven contestants plough off at the Silver Plough Championship.
The ploughs are to be one to three furrows and are to be manufactured prior to 1956. The tractors are also to be pre 1956.

The Trophy for first place is a plaque depicting a team of three clydesdale horses drawing a single furrow plough.
